Alaska Penninsula Trophy Bear Hunts
This area offers some of the highest density of Brown Bears on the planet as well as some of the largest. With an extremely high opportunity rate for bears of 9’ and some that even reach and surpass the 10’ mark, this area is truly one of the last wild frontiers on the planet.
Unit 9 Brown Bears:
Unit 9 has an alternating season meaning these bears are managed and not over hunted. In even years (2022, 2024…) the season is May 10th – 25th. The spring season has long hunting days as there is 15+ hours of daylight.
The large boars in the spring have full coats from their long hibernation period. These boars will be hunted as they are pursuing sows in estrus. In odd years (2021,2023…) Unit 9 has a fall season October 7th-21st. In the fall the bears will be concentrated around the salmon streams and the hillsides that are covered with berries.
While the hunting times are shorter due to less daylight the bears are in a more concentrated area. This narrows your area of glassing and increases your chance of spotting the trophy that you are looking for!
Hunting Big Trophy Bears
In both the spring and fall seasons we will be focused on hunting only the largest mature boars this in turn is great for the future and helps keep a good balance. Both seasons offer great opportunities at some of the biggest bear/mile density and largest boars with two different hunting tactics.
Our guides are very experienced and seasoned in all of Alaska’s big game but particularly in judging and stalking brown bears. Archery & Rifle hunters are both welcome and we have camps that offer both disciplines great chances for opportunities. Our guides are well versed in trophy and field care. While the Alaska Peninsula offers some of the harshest and rugged conditions the world has to offer it also has some of the greatest rewards.
